Systems Little House & Australian Charity for the children of Vietnam (ACCV)
ACCV is a charity very close to Michelle’s (Director of Systems Little House) heart. She first started volunteer teaching blind students from the Ba Dinh Blind association many years ago – and that is where she met with the coordinators and members of the ACCV community. During one of these meeting Michelle struck up a conversation with Alison and Mai who explained that they were wanting to start a playgroup for visually impaired and blind children and their parents to meet. Michelle decided to get involved and this has lead to the current program of ACCV’s ‘Play & Learn’ program ( insert link) Michelle as well as members of the Systems Little House team regularly train & advise the playgroup leaders on suitable events and sensory play activities.
The ACCV Play & Learn groups meet every 2 weeks at Systems Little House for regular activities which Systems Little House are very proud to sponsor through providing training to the playgroup leaders, materials used during the art & craft activities we well as the loan of a safe and clean space for the children and parents to meet.
In addition Systems holds regular community events where by 100% of the money raised through ticket sales is donated to ACCV to continue their support of visually impaired & blind children within the community.
Systems Little House visit to Hanoi Children’s Hospital
In December 2016 and Tet 2017 as families and friends of Systems were getting ready for their holidays a campaign was launched for second hand toys to give to the in patients of Hanoi Children’s Hospital.
We are so thankful to all the children and their families for the amazing response and wonderful donations of teddies & money we received.
A group of teachers, their children and staff dressed up and visited the hospital to distribute the gifts and we surprised a lot of children and did truly put smiles on a lot of sad faces. It was a wonderful and humbling experience making everyone in our group feel very grateful for everything we have in our lives – particularly the health of our children.
