UPDATE: Bursary Program Introduction

Dear Families,

Following the global pandemic and the financial strain on families around the world, we at System’s Little House understand that some families have been hit harder than others. For this reason, we have decided to introduce the System’s Little House Bursary Program, offering discounts to new, self-funding families for the 20-21 school year.

UPDATE: Quarter 4 Changes to Important Dates

Due to the Global Pandemic of CoVid 19,  Quarter 4 2020 at Systems Little House has been delayed. We have tried to ensure that we can still enjoy all the activities of the quarter however there will be slight changes to the program. Please see the schedule below for the new important dates –

BIRTHDAY WEEK! Or ‘A week of cake!’ = 18th – 22nd May 2020

So many children missed the opportunity to celebrate their birthday at school with their class friends due to the school closures. So we will be holding belated birthday parties during snack time through the week of the 18th May to the 22nd May. If your child had a birthday during the school closure – your teacher will contact you to discuss a class party. Names will also be on the birthday board in the garden.

PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCES = 25th – 29th May 2020

Scheduled for the children’s 5th week back at school, we know that we will notice a huge leap in your children’s development and progress and we would welcome the opportunity to share our observations of your child’s development and how they have settled back into school after the long period of closure. We really do acknowledge and value your huge contribution to this period, and as true partners on your child’s learning journey, this year we would love to hear from you about your experiences and observations too during the conferences! Your child’s teacher will be in touch soon to schedule your conference time.

ART SHOW & CONCERT = SATURDAY 6TH JUNE

Our Annual Art Show is usually the highlight of the school events calendar – understandably this year the amount of artwork that has been produced is much, much less than normal. However, we do have a few pieces from before the school closure, which we have treasured, as well as a great number of pieces produced at home which will be displayed in our ‘Corona Exhibit Room!’. In addition to a scaled down Art Show – the amount of time the children have had to prepare for the concert has also been reduced and so – we will be combining the Art Show and the School Concert into one morning for families to visit the school, wander round admiring the children’s achievements and enjoy the group performances. At the moment we are not yet able to confirm the plan of the morning – if there are still limits on the number of people allowed to gather then we will try to schedule different times for all the families to visit school in small groups. 

EXTENDED SUMMER SCHOOL: UNTIL 7th AUGUST

UPDATE: System’s Little House will reopen on Monday, 11th May, 2020!

It is with great excitement that we announce the reopening of our doors! On Monday, 11th May, we will be welcoming back our school children – after such a long time without children here, we cannot wait to fill the garden and classrooms with their laughter once again! 

As explained in the revised (May 2020) SLH Policies & Procedures and required in most places in Hanoi, it is now mandatory that everyone entering the school (staff, children and accompanying adults) will be required to wear a mask (to/from school), have their temperature checked and hand sanitiser applied upon arrival. Here are some additional notes regarding arrival & drop off as well as departure & pick up – 

    • Masks must be worn by adult non-staff members while in the school at all times.
    • Only 1 adult per family may accompany a child / children into the school grounds.
    • All adults (non-staff members) should remain at least 1m away from other adults and children not in their family while in the school.
    • Once children are dropped off/picked up, we respectively ask all adults to leave the school premises, as gatherings are prohibited. 

During this time the Play House will remain closed.

UPDATE: Corona Virus and School Closure Continues

The government has announced the continuation of the lockdown until 20th April and the expected re-opening of schools between 15th May to 15th June 2020.

Due to the CoVid 19 Pandemic, all schools in Vietnam are required to remain closed. The latest information that we have from the Ministry of Education is that closures will last until 20th April, updates will be emailed nearer this date to parents. Thank you for your support & understanding during this challenging time.
